Scott has over 20 years of experience in biostatistics for clinical trials, covering a wide variety of therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, neurological, urological, peripheral vascular and orthopedic. He was previously head of biostatistics for Covidien Vascular Therapies and later operated an independent consulting business. Scott is an expert in study design, statistical analysis, and the interpretation and communication of scientific evidence; he currently serves as Statistical Editor for the AHA journal Stroke: Vascular and Interventional Neurology. He has been involved with dozens of premarket submissions leading to FDA approvals and clearances, is published as a co-author on over 40 manuscripts in refereed medical journals, and has represented numerous clients at FDA pre-submissions, issues meetings and advisory panels. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Michigan State University and a PhD in statistics from the University of Minnesota. He lives in North Carolina with his wife and two young sons and enjoys books and films, especially science fiction, in his spare time.
